BCSEA Project Training on IMO Code and EU Directive on Accident Investigation

BCSEA Project Training on IMO Code and EU Directive on Accident Investigation was held on 9 – 10 April 2019 in Kiev, Ukraine, for the respective responsible authorities.
The course introduced the international and EU legislative framework in the field of marine casualty investigation and provided some practical tools to analyse marine casualties and incidents.
The two EMSA lectures presented also best practices supporting the set-up of the accident investigation and its initial phases, including coordination, cooperation with other interested States (EU MS and 3rd Countries) and national authorities.
Principles and good practices to approach the accident site and to collect physical evidence were lively discussed within the audience as well.
The course contributed to further developing the accident investigation capabilities of the Ukrainian authorities.
