The training course provided a general overview of the type approval process, compliance testing for Port State and Flag State Implementation of the IMO’s Ballast Water Management Convention and provides an opportunity to share experiences between Member States. The training aimed at existing or new Port State Control and Flag State Officers or officials in the central administration, who are, or will be, responsible for developing and implementing compliance, monitoring and enforcement regimes for the International Convention for the Control and Management of Ships’ Ballast Water and Sediments.
