Funding opportunity: EU action grant related to the CISE operational services

The European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund (EMFAF) offers a new funding opportunity to foster the implementation of CISE and to facilitate the engagement of new stakeholders. The call for proposals: “Action for a CISE incident alerting system” (EMFAF-2021-PIA-CISE), with an available budget of EUR 2 437 500, was launched on 26 August 2021.

The aim of the call for proposals is to enhance the cooperation among the EU maritime public authorities across sectors and borders by promoting the development of new pre-operational services and to foster the implementation of CISE in view of its operationalisation. It is expected that by the end of the project new participants will be connected to the CISE Network and that the services newly implemented will also be used in operation beyond the duration of the grant project.

The scope of this call includes the development and implementation of the CISE services related to risk and incident alerting services using CISE for information exchange. Applicants may refer to the CISE vessel of interest, alerting and risk services developed by the “Pre-operational Services Working Group”. The proposed services are expected to be complementary to information available in the users’ operational systems and to ease the work at operational and tactical level. Furthermore, the activities under the grant foresee testing of the services in the operational scenario for at least 6 months and the organization of a final demonstration event for the CISE community.

The full text of the call for proposals is available at the EU Funding and Tenders Portal. The call will be managed by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA).
