On 26 and 27 February, EMSA hosted the European Coast Guard Functions Forum Cybersecurity Working Group Workshop, co-organised with the Portuguese presidency of the ECGFF.

The event was attended by more than 40 participants, representing the Coast Guard functions of EU Member States.

EMSA presented its activities on cybersecurity, including the guidance document on cybersecurity during ship inspections, prepared with the European Commission, its work on cybersecurity for Maritime Autonomous Surface Ships (MASS), and the EMSA Academy cybersecurity training course.

During the workshop, delegates discussed a range of issues, including evolving cybersecurity threats, the risks posed by increased integration of technology into maritime operations, and the importance of cybersecurity at organisational level. Delegates agreed that cooperation between all stakeholders is vital to understand and address the current maritime cybersecurity challenges.
