EMSA delivers a virtual training course on Business Intelligence tool for National Administrators and Statisticians of Mediterranean MoU’s countries

EY IMSAS training

Under the framework of the EU funded SAFEMED V project, EMSA’s staff delivered a virtual training on Business Intelligence tool (BI Tool) for National Administrators and Statisticians of Mediterranean MoU’s countries from 3 to 5 May 2023. Overall, 12 participants attended the course.

All Port State Control (PSC) inspections in the Mediterranean Memorandum of Understanding (MedMoU) are reported in THETIS-MED, the database populated by the PSCOs of the MedMoU Countries and BI tool allows the users to create queries, reports, pivot tables and graphs in order to analyse the data. The number of queries is practically limitless, and each one can be stored in the library to be used when necessary. Results can be exported in various formats or delivered by e-mail on fixed scheduling.

The three-day training aimed at ensuring a practical demonstration of the BI tool functionalities by providing participants with an overview of the software, details of the potentialities and practical exercises.

A powerful instrument which enables analysis of the PSC activities in order to individuate the trends, patterns and areas of improvement.
