How will CISE integrate with the current surveillance systems already in place?

The aim of CISE is to make the already existing and future maritime surveillance systems developed at the national and EU levels interoperable. CISE defines standards to enable seamless information exchange between national systems and sectors, civil as well as military organizations. It fosters the re-use and enhancement of the authorities´ currently used systems.

Moreover, CISE should be seen as part of a more comprehensive information and exchange framework across the EU, and its implementation should work towards coherence with this framework.
