Empollex FAQs

  • How are exchanges financed?
  • What type of exchanges?
  • Who can participate?

Who can participate?

EU Member States, EFTA Countries Norway and Iceland and Candidate Countries (considered as participating States) can all take part in the programme.

National experts/professionals that wish to apply for an exchange must:

  • have expertise in the field of marine pollution preparedness & response (accidental or deliberate marine pollution)
  • be working in this field
  • have as a main objective to learn more about marine pollution preparedness & response
  • have a working knowledge of English and/or the language of the Host Centre of Expertise.

The multiplying effect at a national level of the experience & lessons learnt from an exchange is an important added value. Therefore candidates should preferably have some expertise in the field of marine pollution preparedness & response and be able to instruct and spread the information and experience gained from an exchange to their colleagues.
