Common core curricula (CCC)

CCC are learning programs designed to support the acquisition of skills, knowledge, and attitudes for entire functions and/or job profiles relevant to the competent beneficiary organisations (e.g. Port State Control Officers, flag State inspectors, Environmental Protection, Auditing, etc.). They are always delivered on a blended-learning modality, combining online synchronous and asynchronous learning activities which are complemented by one or more in-person sessions. Their duration varies, but as a principle each participant will need to devote, on average, up to 5 hours per week over several non-consecutive weeks.

Part-time on-line courses (PTOC)

PTC are learning programs designed to support the acquisition of skills, knowledge, and attitudes for specific working activities, tasks, or topics (e.g. European Maritime Law, Cybersecurity in the Maritime Domain, Port Reception Facilities inspections, etc.), or specific EMSA tools (Integrated Maritime Services, Automated Behaviour Monitoring, etc.). They are always delivered on a blended learning modality, combining online synchronous and asynchronous activities. Generally, they are not complemented by in-person sessions. Their duration varies, but as a principle each participant will need to devote, on average, up to 5 hours per week over several non-consecutive weeks. They are generally shorter than CCC and with a more focused scope.

Short courses (SC)

SC are designed to cater the requirements of a specific legal act (EU or International) or of a maritime application developed by EMSA (CleanSeaNet, Copernicus, etc.). These courses are delivered either in person or on a live synchronous mode and their duration does not exceed 4 days.

Digital Learning Modules (DLMs)

Digital Learning Modules (DLMs) are on-demand, self-paced learning modules which leverage on their asynchronous nature to ensure anytime-anywhere learning, which means professionals can attend them when they need, wherever they are, and according to their pace. They can be 20–30-minute standalone modules with certificates or they can be stacked up into much larger learning modules, which may take few weeks or even months to complete (like the Ro-Pax module). DLMs offer a very scalable and effective solution to serve learning needs in a quick, flexible and efficient way.
